Fly Fishing
The Endrick is not a big river. For Fly fishing a single handed rod can be used.
Shrimp fly patterns are popular when the river is clearing after a spate. Quite sparsely dressed fly patterns work well, black and purple shrimp patterns tied on Size 10 trebles are productive.
Fly patterns for night fishing are similar to those suggested in the River Leven methods.
In clearing floods a size 14 long-shank treble, dressed with a claret seals fur body, gold rib, and black hackle can be most effective for Sea Trout.
